Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong has leveled serious allegations against the Nigeria Police Force, claiming that officials at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) demanded ₦3 million to initiate an investigation and arrest a key suspect in the gruesome 2018 death of 13-year-old Ochanya Elizabeth Ogbanje.
Speaking on Channels Television, Effiong expressed deep frustration over the lack of progress in bringing Victor Buaja the son of the primary suspect, Andrew Ogbuaja to justice. While Andrew Ogbuaja was the face of the initial trial, his son Victor has remained at large for years.
