According to him, such notifications are standard procedures required under the Electoral Act, as political parties are expected to formally inform the commission ahead of congresses, primaries, and conventions.
The INEC Chairman noted that the situation has been complicated by legal disputes currently before the courts, which require the commission to act with caution and neutrality.
He emphasized that every decision taken by the commission is guided strictly by the law and existing court orders to avoid interfering with judicial proceedings.
Amupitan added that INEC remains committed to fairness and transparency in handling political party matters, regardless of internal disagreements among party members.
He reassured Nigerians that the commission will continue to engage all parties within the legal framework to ensure that democratic processes are upheld while maintaining the integrity of the electoral system.
