Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Auwal Mohammed Jatau, has commended the 33 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army for engaging youths in friendly sporting activities. The deputy governor particularly praised Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe, for sponsoring a volleyball tournament between military and civilian youths at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
According to Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau, the tournament showcased the power of sports in fostering unity, competition, and friendship among the people. Represented by Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House, Bauchi, Eng Haruna Muhammad Barde, the deputy governor noted, “It’s heartening to see athletes showcasing their skills and dedication, embodying teamwork and resilience.”

Rt. Hon. The administration of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is committed to supporting initiatives like sporting activities by the Nigerian Army and other security agencies to promote peaceful coexistence and unity ¹. The deputy governor emphasized the vital role sports play in society and the need to provide necessary support for initiatives like this tournament.
Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau urged the brigade to remember that discipline and respect cultivated through sports are essential for community development. In a vote of thanks, Garrison Commander Lieutenant Colonel Abdulrahman Modibbo appreciated Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s government for supporting the brigade.
