In a heartfelt expression of gratitude and unity, the Michika Elder Forum, alongside other representatives from the Michika Local Government Area, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Adamawa State, Umaru Fintiri.

The delegation, led by Retired Major General Bitrus Kwaji, commended the governor for his inclusive governance which they believe has significantly contributed to the development of the state and has opened doors for the Michika people to be part of this progress.

During the visit, Major General Kwaji emphasized the unwavering support Governor Fintiri has shown towards the Michika community, stating, “Your unwavering support to our people cannot be overstated. We appreciate Your Excellency.” The sentiments were echoed by Alhaji Bubakari Kamale, who expressed profound gratitude for the governor’s identification with the Michika local government area in his leadership role, stating, “We are indebted to you for your love for our people. We are solidly behind you with our alloyed loyalty.”

A prominent point of discussion during the visit was the appeal for the creation of the Michika Kingdom, with Michika being designated as its headquarters. Kamale presented a united plea, accompanied by a letter from the Michika community, urging for the establishment of what they termed “Mbugge Michika.” This proposal was received with keen interest by Governor Fintiri, who acknowledged the collective appeal and the importance of working together for the betterment of the community.

Hon. Zakaria Dauda Nyampa also took the opportunity to express appreciation for the governor’s first-class considerations for the Michika people. He stated, “We are really grateful to Your Excellency for the first-class considerations you have given our people. We will continue to identify with you in your unmatched dedication to uplift our people.”

Responding to the delegation, Governor Fintiri welcomed the expressions of solidarity and support. “I want to assure you that Adamawa State, under my leadership, will continue to provide the desired dividends of democracy. I have heard you loud and clear,” he affirmed. The governor also reflected on his dedication to remembering the needs of the home front while aspiring to accomplish greater feats for the state.

The courtesy visit, which emphasized both gratitude and a call for further advancements for the Michika community, showcased the unity and determination of the Michika people to engage actively in the governance process under Fintiri’s administration.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both sides expressing a commitment to ongoing collaboration for the benefit of Adamawa State and its citizens.
