The Senator representing the Adamawa Central senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate, Aminu Iya Abbas, has commenced the installation of solar street lights in several communities within the constituency.
The senator, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Innovation, Science and Technology, stated through his Yola media office that the initiative is part of his commitment to complementing the government’s efforts aimed at improving security across the state.
The statement added that, as part of his campaign promises, Senator Abbas began the installation of street lights in various local government areas of the Adamawa Central senatorial district, with the goal of enhancing security and socio-economic development within the communities.
The installation of solar-powered street lights, which has now been completed in some areas while others are at advanced stages, reflects Senator Aminu Iya Abbas’s commitment to quality representation.
In related developments, some residents of Girei, Song, Hong, Yola South, Yola North, Fufore, and Gombi local government areas have praised the quality representation of Senator Aminu Iya Abbas for the Adamawa Central senatorial district.
A cross-section of beneficiaries interviewed by our reporter expressed their appreciation to the senator for his commitment and dedication to providing them with their basic needs.
According to them, the street lights have made a significant difference in their daily lives, and they are incredibly grateful for the work Senator Abbas has done for their communities.
The residents stated that, with the positive impact of the solar-powered street lights provided by the senator, they are optimistic that his representation will serve as a testament to his concern for meeting the needs of the people he represents.

In an interview, the Director General of the Aminu Iya Abbas 2023 Campaign Council, Alhaji Usman Mohammed Kaura, explained that this initiative, among many of the senator’s significant strides, has further improved the well-being of the constituents in the Adamawa Central senatorial district.
Kaura further urged residents to reciprocate the gesture by rallying around the senator to enable him to provide more democratic dividends at their doorsteps.
