SPORTS: ‘Celebrating with your nation’ – Liverpool’s Nigeria-eligible forward aims to win World Cup

The highly-rated forward, who is enjoying a breakthrough season with the Premier League side, has begun to attract attention for his attacking qualities despite limited opportunities at senior level. Ngumoha has made 13 league appearances this campaign, registering one goal as he continues to develop within Liverpool’s first-team setup.

In an interview with Sky Sports, the teenager outlined his aspirations both at club and international level, stressing the unique significance of winning a World Cup with one’s country.

“For club, Champions League and Premier League as well,” he said. “I think the main one is World Cup. Celebrating with your nation internationally, being the best country in the world, that’s crazy.”

Ngumoha also spoke about his individual ambitions, expressing confidence in his ability to compete at the highest level and achieve personal recognition in the future.

The forward credited his mentality and belief to early guidance from his brother, who played a key role in shaping his development during his formative years.

Having made the switch from Chelsea FC to Liverpool, the youngster remains eligible to represent Nigeria at senior international level, despite featuring for England in youth competitions.

His situation is being closely monitored by the Super Eagles, with head coach Éric Chelle expected to keep track of his progress as Nigeria look to strengthen their squad for future tournaments.
