Nine-time Nigerian champions, Enyimba are still in pursuit of their first victory in the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup season, after settling for a 2-2 draw against Egyptian giants Zamalek in their second group match held at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.

The encounter started with an unexpected turn for Enyimba as Zamalek surged into a commanding 2-0 lead within the first 40 minutes. The goals came courtesy of Seifeddine Jaziri and Omar Faraj, who capitalized on defensive lapses from the home side, leaving Enyimba fans anxious as the team struggled to find their rhythm.

However, the People’s Elephant began to turn the tide before halftime when Ifeanyi Ihemekwele netted the first goal for Enyimba, igniting hope among the home supporters.
