Arsenal’s winger, Bukayo Saka, has humorously expressed his disappointment after being denied the opportunity to secure his first hat-trick for the club, attributing the misfortune to teammate Kai Havertz.
In a commanding performance, Bukayo Saka scored two goals as the Gunners triumphed over AS Monaco with a convincing 3-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, December 11.
Saka was on the brink of completing his hat-trick when he fired a shot toward goal in the 88th minute. However, the attempt took an unexpected turn as it deflected off Havertz, ultimately finding its way into the net.
Reflecting on the incident, Saka said, “He [Havertz] got in the way of it,” while laughing about the situation. Despite the setback, he remains optimistic, adding, “But don’t worry, it’s [a hat trick] coming. It’s on the way.”
In addition to Bukayo Saka’s standout performance, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta took a moment to commend young talent Myles Lewis-Skelly, who received a rare starting opportunity against Monaco due to a series of injuries affecting the team’s defensive line.
After the match, Arteta expressed his pride in Lewis-Skelly’s performance, emphasizing the significance of the moment for the young player.
