The President of the African School of Governance, Professor Kingsley Moghalu, has advised Nigeria’s government to focus on fixing problems affecting the nation.

Professor Moghalu said focusing on the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, would not address the economic hardship affecting the nation.

Naija News reported that Kemi Badenoch is a series of interviews decried Nigeria’s poor governance and its system.

She also accused the Nigeria Police of being anti-citizens. She recounted that men of Nigeria Police stole her brother’s hoes and wristwatches.

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, in response, accused the British-Nigerian of denigrating her country of origin.

Kemi was, however, undaunted by the Vice President’s statement, stating that she identifies more with her ethnic origin, Yoruba than the country Nigeria.

In a brief comment on his X handle, on Kemi’s issue, Moghalu cautioned the government against dwelling too much on the British Conservative Party leader’s expression of her dislike for the country’s poor working system.

“The bottom line of the Kemi Badenoch identity-politics controversy around her Nigerian origin is this: even if she were to become the UK Prime Minister tomorrow morning, it would have absolutely zero implications (or benefits even) for Nigeria and Nigerians.

“So why all the fuss? Nigerian leaders and Nigerians should fix Nigeria’s problems. “Claiming” Kemi or her “denying” Nigeria won’t solve them,” he said.
