The Kano State House of Assembly has approved seven nominees put forward by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for screening as members of the state executive council.

This confirmation came after a thorough three-and-a-half-hour screening process, resulting in a unanimous agreement among lawmakers to accept the nominees as Commissioners-designate.

During the plenary session, Speaker Jibril Falgore announced the confirmation, noting that it was based on the resolution reached by the lawmakers in the ad-hoc committee.

It is important to mention that on Monday, Falgore presented an executive bill that included six nominees for screening and potential confirmation as commissioners for the state.

Additionally, the Speaker revealed that Nura Iro Ma’aji was added to the list of initial nominees.

By the end of the session, those confirmed included former Chief of Staff Shehu Wada Sagaji, who was relieved of his position last Thursday, and Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), who was removed due to health issues.

“I’ll forever remain appreciative to the will of the Almighty Allah in my entire life,” an overjoyous Waiya said after his confirmation.

Like Waiya, Shehu Sagagi said, “The will of the Almighty Allah has prevailed following his successful screening and subsequent confirmation as a Kano State Commissioner.”
