The semi-final draw for the Carabao Cup was officially confirmed on Thursday evening.
This event followed Tottenham Hotspur’s exhilarating 4-3 victory against Manchester United in the final quarter-final match.
Spurs will now face English Premier League leaders Liverpool at home in the first leg of their semi-final.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will host Newcastle United in the first leg of the other semi-final.
The initial matches are scheduled for the week of January 6, with the return legs commencing on February 3. Liverpool currently holds the title, having triumphed over Chelsea in the previous season’s final.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has disclosed that winger Alejandro Garnacho has been feeling a bit upset with him following his omission from the squad in United’s recent 2-1 victory over Manchester City last weekend.
The decision of Amorim to leave out Alejandro Garnacho ahead of the game has left the young Argentine international feeling disappointed.
As the Red Devils prepare for their upcoming Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur at 9 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, Amorim took the opportunity to affirm Garnacho’s readiness to contribute to the upcoming match.
During the pre-match interview, he stated, “Garnacho is doing really well; his training sessions have been impressive.”
He acknowledged Garnacho’s feelings, saying, “He seems a little bit upset with me, and that’s perfectly alright! I was really, really happy about that because, as a player, I would have felt the same way.”
