According to a report by Punch Newspaper on Saturday, May 9, 2026, Don Norman Obinna on Friday retained his position as the Abia State chairman of the African Democratic Congress during the party’s state congress held in Umuahia.
Following his re-election, he declared that the party was prepared to challenge and defeat Governor Alex Otti in the 2027 governorship election in the state.
