This was made public by the National Leader Igbo bu Igbo South East Forum High Chief Henry Uzozie while responding to questions from newsmen during a second organized by a Youth group at Abuja recently.
High Chief Henry Uzozie said that the South East region of the country has suffered marginalization and imbalance by the fact that it has five States as against other five regions of the country that has six States each with North West having seven states.

He further said that the creation of additional one state in the South East would balance equity fairness and justice especially as it affects election, appointments and other national purposes.
According to Chief Uzozie “we have been marginalized and shortchanged for so long due to inequality of states in the South East with other regions. It was a deliberate act by past administrations in Nigeria and this is not fair. So, creating this state in the South East is a welcome development and will balance the South East region with other regions, Chief Uzozie said.
He commended Hon Ikenga Ugochinyere representing Ideator Federal Constituency, a true son of the South East and 16 other members for boldly sponsoring the Bill for the creation of Orlu State and citing the capital at Orlu town, adding that the action is long overdue.
He also commended Mr President Ashiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR for his commitment in implementing the 2014 National Confab report to ensure equity fairness and justice in Nigeria.
On the issue of my elder brother Senator Ned Nwoko pushing for the creation of Anioma State to balance the South East region, Anioma State being proposed from Delta State by Senator Ned Nwoko is a misnorma in all ramifications. Anioma is a region in Delta State (Delta North District to be precise) and from the location of Delta State in the South South region of the country, it has nothing to do with the balancing of States in the South East region. I want to believe that Senator Ned Nwoko is merely playing politics and that his action is laughable and not in the interest of the South East region.
