EXCLUSIVE: WWE Legend Says Tribal Combat Is The Same Thing As A Street Fight And Nobody Has Explained The Difference

Bully Ray says WWE is not maximizing the potential of the Jacob Fatu and Roman Reigns Tribal Combat match at Clash in Italy, arguing the stipulation needs to mean something beyond a standard no-disqualification bout and suggesting the ring should be surrounded by Samoan family members to give the concept real weight.

Speaking on the Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray praised the build overall but took issue with how the Tribal Combat announcement landed on Monday’s Raw.

“Jacob Fatu said tribal combat, and it didn’t sound like it meant anything. What is tribal combat? Tribal combat should mean that the ring should be surrounded with fellow Samoans in the family, almost like a glorified lumberjack match.
