Sheriff: For The Record, In His First Outing Obi Secured Approximately 2.8M Votes In North-Kwankwaso

The vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has responded to comments made by former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff about Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Kwankwaso shared his reaction in a post on his official X account on July 7, 2026, after Sheriff claimed that northern voters would not support Obi in the 2027 presidential election. Sheriff had argued that Obi’s actions during his tenure as governor of Anambra State would make it difficult for him to secure votes from the region.
