One of the survivors of the fatal accident that occurred during the 2025 Ame-Wo-Ba-Eggon carnival procession in Nassarawa Eggon has died while receiving treatment in Lafia.
The deceased, identified as Ayaka Usman Kigbu, was among those injured in the crash involving three trucks near the Eggon Community Secondary School (ECSS), the venue of the carnival.
DAILY POST reports that the accident, which happened on Sunday, December 28, 2025, initially claimed the lives of four people and left several others with varying degrees of injuries.
Kigbu was rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH), Lafia, where he had been undergoing medical treatment since the incident.
He was confirmed dead on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The news of his death was made public by a close friend, Michael Ozigi Friday, in a Facebook post on Sunday.
