BREAKING: Ex-Campaign DG of Kaduna Governor Dumps APC, Joins ADC

The former Director-General of Governor Uba Sani’s 2023 Campaign Council in Kaduna State has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Muhammad Bello joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and was appointed as a member of the committee reviewing the party’s constitution.

Mr Bello previously served in Kaduna State as the Commissioner of Education and later the Commissioner of Information. He resigned from the cabinet in July last year.

In a letter dated 7 January, addressed to the APC Chairman of Dogarawa Ward in the Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Mr Bello announced his departure from the APC.

“This is to let you know of my decision to withdraw my membership of the APC with immediate effect,” the letter stated.

“I wish to place on record, my appreciation for the mutually beneficial relationship that we have shared during my membership of the party”, Mr Bello stated.

Mr Bello’s resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joining the ADC comes barely five months after he stepped down as a commissioner, amid a deepening feud between Governor Sani and his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Mr Bello, who holds the traditional title of ‘Mainan Zazzau,’ resigned from Governor Sani’s cabinet in July last year. Following his departure, he was replaced by Ahmed Maiyaki as Commissioner for Information.

He served as the Director-General of Uba Sani’s 2023 campaign and played a key role in the governor’s electoral victory.

Political observers view his exit from the ruling party as an assertion of his position in the feud between Governor Sani and Mr El-Rufai.
