Angela Okorie Finally Breaks Silence After Regaining Freedom

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has spoken publicly for the first time after her release from prison, expressing profound gratitude to her fans and supporters.

The award-winning actress shared a message on her Instagram story, thanking those who stood by her during the period.

“God bless each and everyone of you who showed me love, you all are amazing,” she wrote. “Thank you.”

Okorie added that she would address her fans and family more directly soon, stating, “I will speak to my fans and families tomorrow”.

Last month, the actress was arrested in Lagos by operatives from the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID). She was remanded to the Suleja correctional centre following her arraignment over alleged cyber-related crimes.

The case stems from a public feud with her colleague Mercy Johnson.

The conflict escalated last year when Okorie claimed Johnson was battling “an ailment I do not wish on my enemies”.

She further accused Johnson of hypocrisy, alleging her public use of “church words” belied her true character and urged her to seek forgiveness from those she had wronged.

Johnson initially responded with a cryptic social media post addressing online vitriol before disengaging from the public dispute.

Last Friday, Emeka Nwite, the judge of a federal high court in Abuja, granted Okorie bail of N5 million, following her re-arraignment on a seven-count charge.

Okorie’s management team also issued a statement clarifying that the actress is currently free and emphasised that she has not been re-arrested, contrary to online reports.
