A former Commissioner for Information in Osun State, Mr Sunday Akere, has disclosed that the All Progressives Congress would win the August 15 gubernatorial election with or without the support of the immediate National Secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Akere, who is the Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator for Osun, stated this while appearing on Western Television Morning Spring programme recently.
The former commissioner was reacting to a question on the passive crisis within the APC in Osun and the absence of party leaders during the wedding ceremony of the son of the former deputy governor in Abuja.
Akere during the programme, suggested that the leadership of the party were not invited by Omisore to his son’s wedding.
He said, “Will you be at an event where you are invited. Was Oyetola or Ambo invited? When you don’t invite me, will I gatecrash into an event?”
The Igbajo-born politician also questioned Omisore’s stand on the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
“Assuming he was the one picked, will the others say they are not supporting him,” he said.
He said the leadership of the party is engaging the former deputy governor with the hope of resolving their differences before the election.
“The leadership of the party is talking to him and I know that before we get to the election time, definitely, he will be at the forefront.”
