At least two people were killed and six others injured during a violent attack by bandits on Unguwar Na Ma’u community in Kakumi Ward, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
In addition, a significant number of cattle and other livestock were reportedly rustled during the attack.
Security analyst, Bakatsine, who shared details of the incident on X on Friday evening noted that the assault occurred despite a peace agreement reportedly reached between local authorities and bandits just weeks ago.
“This latest attack raises serious concerns about the effectiveness and credibility of the peace deal. If such violence can still take place after an agreement was reached, what does this mean for the safety of residents?” Bakatsine questioned.
Neither the Katsina state Police Command nor the state government have released a formal statement on the attack.
