Before, When Obi Walked on the Streets, You’d See the Organic Love; Now, Nobody Looks at Him—Haroun

During an interview on TVC, Public Affairs Analyst, Yusuf Haroun spoke on the changing political fortunes of former presidential candidate Peter Obi, arguing that public perception around him has shifted significantly in recent times.

He stated that what was once seen as widespread grassroots enthusiasm appears to have diminished.

He argued that the current political landscape does not favor Obi or other opposition figures, adding that internal challenges within major opposition parties have further weakened their preparedness for future elections.

He added that, in his view, the ruling party remains the most organized and election-ready political platform at the moment.

According to him, “Before, when Peter walks on the street, you see the organic love, but now even if he goes to the airport, nobody even looks at him. I doubt even if he will win in Anambra State if he comes out on a presidential ticket. I doubt if Peter Obi will win a local government. I’m telling you the truth. Atiku Abubakar again is not in a solid political party. The ADC is not ready for election. PDP, they are not ready for election. The only political party we have today that is ready for election is APC. That is just the reality.”
