The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu has once again, denied any involvement in the killing of the former President-General of National Association of Ohafia Students, Igwe Akuma Akwu and other crises that rocked Okon-Aku community in Ohafia.
Emetu in a fresh press release signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Cyril Chukwudi Mba, on Wednesday, said his office is not involve in acts of intimidation and brutality of indigenes of Okon-Aku as being alleged in the media.
The Deputy Governor, who welcomed an independent and transparent investigation into the killing, said justice on the matter can only come through facts, not through media trial.
“If Igwe Akuma had already been shot before the Deputy Governor arrived in Okon-Aku, on what factual basis is he being linked to the shooting.”
Emetu further explained that he had no ancestral, political, or traditional interest in Okon-Aku chieftaincy matters, which are governed strictly by custom and law, but only intervened to restore peace and protect lives.
