Ibe made the remark following a tense interview between Hasan and Daniel Bwala, a media aide to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the programme Head to Head.
During the discussion, Hasan asked Bwala several pointed questions. However, the presidential aide attempted to avoid directly addressing some of them, which eventually led to a heated exchange between the two.
Bwala also rejected previous criticisms he had reportedly made about Tinubu before joining the administration.
The interview has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many social media users criticising Bwala and claiming the encounter reflected poorly on Nigeria.
Responding in a post on X, Ibe said Hasan’s tough questioning of Bwala has helped Nigerians better appreciate Oseni’s approach as a broadcaster.
According to him, whether people admire or dislike Oseni, the interview highlights the importance of journalists who are willing to challenge public officials and hold them accountable during televised discussions.
