Donald Trump stormed the cold open of “Saturday Night Live” this week as a family attempted to manage rising gas prices on a road trip.
The segment in the March 14 episode began with Mikey Day, Ashley Padilla, Marcello Hernández and Sarah Sherman as a family on a road trip looking at the rising gas prices. But Trump (James Austin Johnson) breaks the scene by monologuing the events of the week.
“You might remember me from such campaign promises as lower gas prices and no more wars. We’ll have to make promises because a promise is just a lie that hasn’t happened yet,” Johnson-as-Trump said. “But now gas costs like a million billion dollars a gallon and it’s for the stock market. Let me put it in a way that the Harry Styles fans in the crowd tonight can understand: The stock market is going in One Direction,” evoking host Harry Styles’ previous group. See More/Details
