BREAKING: Ebonyi Governor Promises Scholarships for First ICT University Students

According to a report by Punch on Saturday, March 14, 2026, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has promised to provide full scholarships for the 187 students who make up the first class of the Ebonyi State University of Information and Communication Technology, in cases where they cannot access the Federal Government’s student loan program via NELFUND.

The announcement came during the university’s 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony at its permanent campus in Oferekpe.

The scholarship scheme is intended to cover the students’ entire academic journey if the federal loan is unavailable, ensuring that financial challenges do not hinder their education.
