The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, alongside former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, joined Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for an interfaith Iftar at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Abuja.
According to a media post shared by Dr. Mariya Mahmoud on Friday, March 6, 2026, the gathering brought together dignitaries and guests to observe the Ramadan fast in an atmosphere of reflection, unity, and fellowship.
Dr. Mahmoud expressed appreciation to the First Lady for what she described as a gracious invitation, noting that it was a rare privilege to participate in the special Ramadan gathering hosted at the Presidential Villa.
She commended Oluremi Tinubu for her warmth, hospitality, and sustained commitment to promoting compassion, unity, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians through such initiatives.
The interfaith Iftar, held during the holy month of Ramadan, provided an opportunity for participants from different backgrounds to come together in prayer and reflection for the peace, progress, and prosperity of Nigeria.
Dr. Mahmoud also prayed that the blessings of the sacred season would bring renewed strength, harmony, and development to the nation.
