Suspected hoodlums have reportedly snatched a lady’s iPhone using a toy gun in the New Kutunku area of Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT. A local resident, Saleh Adamu, identified the victim as Blessing Yohana.
He stated that the incident occurred on Monday around 10:12 pm near the LEA Primary School.
Adamu, a neighbour of the victim, explained that Yohana was returning from a shop when hoodlums on a motorcycle trailed her and pointed a toy gun at her.
Out of fear, she surrendered the device. Adamu added that one of the suspects slapped the victim before they sped off.
While the incident was immediately reported to vigilantes on patrol, the suspects remain at large. Reports indicate that phone snatching has become rampant in the area, particularly at night, with hoodlums targeting women walking alone in isolated spots.
A police source in the area, however, noted that the incident has not yet been officially reported to the station.
