As reported by The Times of Israel on March 6, 2026, Iranian lawmaker Mohammad Saleh Jokar made a striking and controversial statement regarding the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. Speaking to the Iranian outlet Didban Iran, Jokar openly expressed his desire for the conflict to escalate further, declaring, “I hope this war turns into a ground war so we witness the burial of American soldiers in the Persian Gulf region.” His remarks suggested that he believes the ultimate outcome of the confrontation will not be settled through negotiations but through direct military engagement.
During the same interview, Jokar dismissed diplomacy as an effective path toward resolving the conflict. He emphasized that Iran intends to determine the outcome through force rather than dialogue, stating, “We will determine the final result on the battlefield, diplomacy is no longer enough.” The Iranian legislator also suggested that Tehran has not yet revealed the full extent of its military capabilities, claiming that the country has yet to deploy what he described as its “new tactics and technologies” in the fight against the United States and Israel.
Jokar also took aim at Donald Trump, referencing previous claims about the strength of the American military. Questioning those assertions, he remarked, “America, which Trump boasted about and said we have the strongest army in the world, where is it now?” His comments reflect the increasingly heated rhetoric surrounding the ongoing confrontation, highlighting the widening divide between diplomatic efforts and calls for decisive military action in the region.
