According to a report by Sky News on Saturday, March 14, 2026, Los Angeles hosts the largest Iranian community outside Iran, with an estimated population exceeding 500,000. Neighborhoods such as Westwood and Beverly Hills, often referred to as Tehrangeles, are home to much of this diaspora.
Sky’s U.S. correspondent Martha Kelner spoke with local Iranian-Americans, discovering strong support among those she met for recent U.S. military actions.
In a Los Angeles shop stacked with luxury Persian rugs, owner Eric Saddigh, who left Iran at age 15, displayed a handwoven peacock rug priced at $25,000.
