According to a report by Reuters on Friday, March 20, 2026, Iran’s Foreign Minister has sharply criticised UK leadership, asserting most British citizens are opposed to any involvement in escalating tensions between Iran, Israel and the United States.
In a statement, Iran’s top diplomat said public sentiment in the United Kingdom does not support participation in what he described as a “war of choice” targeting Iran. He accused UK political leadership of disregarding the will of the British people and placing lives at risk by permitting British military bases to be used in operations against Iran.
