In a recent post on Facebook, former federal legislator Shehu Sani recounted a concerning story about a close associate who is entangled in the current conflicts in the Middle East.
According to him, “One of my Honorable friend who went to Dubai for knee Surgery ran out of the Clinic together with other patients when missiles flew over the building yesterday. He’s among those presently stranded.”
Sani shared that his friend went to Dubai for a knee surgery, anticipating a standard operation and recovery time.
However, things took a serious turn when missiles were said to have flown over the medical facility where he was being treated.
This alarming situation led to chaos within the clinic, prompting both patients and medical personnel to evacuate the building in search of safety.
The former senator’s message underscores the fear and uncertainty faced by people in the impacted regions, including foreigners who had come for medical or personal purposes.
His friend, who had originally traveled abroad just for medical treatment, unexpectedly found himself in a perilous situation far from home.
Sani’s message highlights the wider effects of regional instability, which has not only disrupted everyday life but also critical services like healthcare.
Patients already facing health issues are now facing unforeseen security risks, adding to their anxiety.
