Speaking on Iranian state television, Mokhber made it clear that there is no basis for renewed diplomatic engagement with the U.S., as tensions between both nations remain high. He maintained that Iran sees little reason to return to the negotiating table amid ongoing regional confrontations and strained relations.
His comments come at a time of heightened instability across the Middle East, with Iran involved in multiple flashpoints and continuing its backing of allied groups in different parts of the region. The situation has fueled speculation about possible diplomatic efforts, but Mokhber dismissed such prospects.
The Iranian official further declared that the country is prepared for a prolonged confrontation if necessary. He expressed confidence in Iran’s military capacity and national resilience, arguing that the nation has the endurance to sustain conflict for an extended period.
Mokhber pointed to Iran’s experience during the eight-year war with Iraq as evidence of its ability to withstand long-term hostilities. He suggested that the country’s historical and cultural foundations have shaped a society that is not intimidated by drawn-out struggles.
Reaffirming his position, he stated that Iran can continue the war for as long as it chooses, underscoring the government’s firm stance against engaging in talks with the United States at this time.
