BREAKING: Osimhen Header & Adams’ Stunning Strike Give Super Eagles AFCON Q/Final Lead!

Victor Osimhen delivered a crucial blow just 47 seconds into the second half, heading Nigeria into a 1-0 lead against Algeria in a tense 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final clash on Saturday evening.

The Galatasaray star’s close-range effort, assisted by a pinpoint cross from Bruno Onyemaechi, ignited the Stade de Marrakech and sent the Nigerian supporters into raptures.

The first half saw both teams battle fiercely, with neither able to break the deadlock. Nigeria had several opportunities, including an early header from Osimhen that went high and a saved shot from Ademola Lookman. Algeria’s defense, marshaled by Luca Zidane in goal, held firm despite receiving two yellow cards.

With the second half barely underway, Osimhen’s predatory instinct proved the difference at about nine minutes later when he connected fellow striker Akor Adams in the 18-yard box, who in turned stored a mesmerising goal at 56th minute.
