On Saturday, the Wike group held a congress in Ekiti and elected Lanre Omolase as the PDP chairman in the south-west state.
In a statement, Ini Ememobong, national publicity secretary of the Turaki PDP faction, described the move as “illegal and unwarranted”.
Ememobong said the dissolution undermines ongoing reconciliation efforts within the opposition party and is aimed at deepening internal divisions.
“We have seen a purported announcement of the dissolution of the elected state executive committees in Ogun, Ekiti and Ondo states. This dissolution, which is illegal and unwarranted, is an affront to the proposed reconciliation for which talks are underway,” the statement reads. See More/Details
