The United States has struck more than 5,500 targets inside Iran, including over 60 ships, by employing a variety of precision weapon systems.
According to a report by CBS News on March 11, 2026, Brad Cooper, the head of U.S. Central Command, confirmed this development in a video update on the ongoing war with Iran.
He explained that strike waves occurred nearly every hour on Tuesday, with attacks launched from multiple locations and directions to overwhelm Iranian defenses.
Cooper also announced that U.S. forces had destroyed the last of Iran’s four Soleimani-class warships, marking a significant blow to the country’s naval capabilities.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had previously declared that Tuesday would represent the most intense day of strikes against Iran since the conflict began on February 28.
The relentless pace of operations demonstrated the U.S. military’s determination to degrade Iranian military infrastructure rapidly and decisively.
Cooper emphasized that American forces were leveraging a variety of advanced AI tools to process enormous volumes of data in mere seconds, enabling faster decision-making than the enemy could match.
He stressed that humans would always retain final authority over decisions about what to target, what to avoid, and the precise timing of engagements.
Nevertheless, these advanced AI systems had transformed processes that once required hours or even days into actions completed in seconds, providing a critical edge in the high-tempo environment of modern warfare.
