According to the report by Reuters on Thursday 19 March 2026, An Iranian missile attack struck Israel’s major oil refinery complex in the northern port city of Haifa on March 19, according to Israeli officials, but caused no significant damage to critical infrastructure.
Israel’s Energy Minister, Eli Cohen, confirmed that while the strike briefly disrupted electricity in parts of the north, power was quickly restored. He described the damage to the grid as “localized and not significant,” adding that key infrastructure sites remained largely unaffected.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for the हमला, stating it targeted refinery facilities in both Haifa and the southern city of Ashdod, alongside what it described as military and security-related sites. However, Israeli authorities have not confirmed any impact on the Ashdod refinery.
Emergency services reported that debris from an intercepted missile fell within the Haifa refinery area, sparking a fire that temporarily disrupted supply lines. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze, and no casualties were recorded. Environmental officials also assessed the scene and confirmed there were no dangerous levels of air pollution or public health risks. See More In Details…
