BREAKING: The Last Surviving Child Of 48th Ooni Of Ife Is Dead

Princess Rafatu Awofisayo has died at the age of 102. She was the last surviving child of the 48th Ooni of Ife, Ademiluyi Ajagun.

The current Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has paid tributes to the late princess, describing her death as the end of an era.

According to a statement released by the Ooni’s palace Director of Media and Public Affairs, Mr Moses Olafare, the late matriarch lived a fulfilled life worthy of celebration not of mourning because she dedicated over a century to the service of humanity and the preservation of Yoruba royal heritage.

Ooni Adeyeye said the deceased upheld the legacy of her late father, Ooni Ademiluyi Ajagun with pride and dignity. She was also praised for humility, wisdom and motherly love and being a custodian of culture.
