BREAKING: Tinubu Pledges to Tackle Terrorism Using Diplomatic Strategy

President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to eradicating terrorism in Nigeria during a high-profile address today, emphasizing a strategic blend of diplomatic engagement and military action.

The President assured citizens that the country is on the path to victory against terrorist threats, guided by the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

In excerpts shared by Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu stated, “We are engaging the world diplomatically. I assure you all that we will defeat terrorism. The task ahead is to move forward with clarity of purpose guided by the Renewed Hope Agenda to build a prosperous Nigeria.”

The speech comes as the administration faces political headwinds and public apprehension, yet Tinubu highlighted ongoing efforts to collaborate with international partners.

The President’s remarks align with recent statements from government officials, including Information Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris, who, during a news conference on Wednesday, outlined far-reaching measures combining military operations with socio-economic initiatives and regional diplomacy.

Dele Alake, another key figure in the administration, praised the government’s proactive approach, noting significant changes in the security architecture, including recent appointments to reinvigorate the fight against insecurity.

“If such actions had been taken ten years ago, we probably would not be where we are today,” Alake remarked, dismissing claims of religious or ethnic targeting by terrorists as economically or politically motivated.

Vice President Kashim Shettima also echoed the administration’s optimism, describing the Renewed Hope Agenda as a transformative policy thrust aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a global investment hub. Speaking at a high-level dialogue in Abuja, Shettima highlighted the agenda’s focus on democracy, development, demographics, and diaspora engagement, earning praise from international allies like the United Kingdom, whose High Commissioner, Richard Montgomery, commended Nigeria’s security strategies.

As Nigeria navigates its complex security landscape, President Tinubu’s administration continues to push forward, leveraging both domestic resolve and global partnerships to fulfill its promise of a safer, more prosperous nation.
