Tensions flared in Bachong community in Plateau State on Saturday following the disruption of a planned mass burial for victims of recent attacks allegedly carried out by suspected armed herders. The incident has drawn strong reactions from community leaders and clergy, including prominent pastor and activist Rev. Father Ezekiel Dachomo.
According to a report by Trust TV published on Saturday, March 14, 2026, the burial ceremony for 11 victims killed during the attacks was halted after local authorities reportedly intervened at the morgue where the bodies were kept. Families who had gathered to claim their loved ones were left distressed when the mortuary attendant was allegedly removed from duty on the orders of the local council chairman.
