According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Sunday, March 15, 2026, Kuwaiti political thinker and analyst Abdullah Al‑Nafisi has offered a critical assessment of U.S. President Donald Trump’s approach to the ongoing war, suggesting that the president may be struggling to achieve his objectives.
In remarks reflecting on Trump’s handling of the conflict, Al‑Nafisi said that discouragement and a loss of confidence appear to be emerging in the U.S. president’s mindset. “It seems that despair and loss of hope are clearly creeping into Trump’s mindset,” he said, characterising Trump’s position on the war as increasingly uncertain.
Al‑Nafisi added that Trump has realised he may not be able to accomplish his goals in the conflict as originally intended. “He has realised he will not achieve his objectives in this war,” the Kuwaiti analyst said, drawing attention to what he described as the limitations of the U.S. strategy.
