BREAKING: Trump Sent Troops to Protect His Cherished Christians; Now It’s Muslims That Are Being Killed—Yusuf

During an interview on Trust TV, political analyst Dr. Usman Yusuf questioned the role of U.S. troops deployed in Nigeria, saying the mission appears inconsistent with the realities on the ground.

Yusuf referenced statements by U.S. President Donald Trump about the purpose of American forces in the country and urged clarity on whether those objectives align with current security challenges.

According to him, “So now do we go to Trump and complain to him that they’re killing our people? And we know why they’re here; Trump said he sent his troops. The premise of Trump’s troops being here is not for God and country. He said to come here and save his cherished Christians. Well, now it’s not his cherished Christians that are being killed all across the land. All these places are Muslims that are being killed, so are the American forces holding their intelligence and watching these bad guys killing Muslims?”

Yusuf’s comments reflect frustration among some Nigerians over persistent violence despite the presence of foreign forces, particularly in regions where Boko Haram and its offshoots have carried out deadly attacks.

He raised questions about whether U.S. intelligence and military personnel are effectively addressing the threat posed by insurgent groups, especially in areas where Muslim communities have borne the brunt of militant violence.
