During an interview on Arise TV, George expressed strong concern over what he described as attempts by some members to create a situation where Nigeria could effectively drift toward a one-party system. He questioned their intentions, warning that such a development would undermine democracy and should not be tolerated.
He insisted that those within the party who are interested in contesting elections must be given a proper platform, adding that ongoing internal disagreements should not be used as an excuse to sideline potential candidates. He also criticised the group for continuing with internal party congresses despite ongoing discussions aimed at resolving differences.
George went on to highlight Nigeria’s historical role in promoting democracy and stability across Africa.
