Dangers Of War: US Drops 5,000lb bunker-buster bombs on Iranian missile sites in battle to unlock Strait of Hormuz

The United States Central Command stated that American jets deployed multiple 5,000-pound “deep penetrator” bombs on fortified locations believed to store anti-ship missiles. The command announced the strikes later in the evening as ongoing tensions with Iran continued to affect shipping through this important Gulf route.

Officials indicated that the targets included underground facilities suspected of housing cruise missiles capable of attacking ships transiting the strait.
