The families of five engineers who vanished without a trace in Ebonyi State are accusing the state government under former Governor and current Minister of Works David Umahi, as well as the police, of covering up the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Esther Aneke, wife of one of the missing engineers, made an emotional plea for answers.
“My husband left me when I was two months pregnant and I did not see him come back home. I did not even see his corpse. Please, I am asking for justice. Please, they should release my husband, wherever he is,” she said.
The five engineers, working with Nelan Consultants, travelled to Ebonyi State on November 3, 2021 to supervise work on the Abakaliki Ring Road project — a $150 million development funded by the African Development Bank. That site visit proved to be the last contact their families and colleagues would ever have with them. Years have passed since their disappearance, and their loved ones say they are still waiting for the truth. See More In Details…
