According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, March 7, 2026, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has officially launched its registration exercise in Anambra State.
The party called on all prospective members to proceed to their respective wards to participate actively in the registration process.
The registration drive is seen as a move to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence across the state.
At the same time, a presidential aspirant of the ADC, Mr Peter Obi, stated that the entire South-East region is united in support of his presidential ambition.
He emphasized that the people of the zone have the right to aspire to national leadership and should be allowed to make their voices heard in the political arena.
Mr Obi criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for allegedly attempting to dictate which candidates parties should present for elections.
He argued that INEC’s focus should be on ensuring free, fair, and credible elections, rather than interfering in party decisions.
He also highlighted the country’s worsening power situation, stressing that public attention should be on addressing national challenges rather than manipulating electoral outcomes.
Mr Obi warned against attempts to manipulate election results, declaring that such actions would not succeed this time.
He stated, “We are now the country with the worst power problem, but what they are talking about is how to snatch and run with election results, but this time, we will not let them run. If they do, we will grab them. They will not be able to do it this time.”
