Retired four-star U.S. Army general Jack Keane has said that while Russia is providing assistance to Iran amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, both Russia and China appear to be limiting the scale of their involvement.
Keane made the remarks during an interview on Fox News on Friday, March 13, 2026, where he discussed the broader geopolitical implications of the U.S. military campaign against Iran under Operation Epic Fury.
According to the former vice chief of staff of the U.S. Army, Russia has shown signs of supporting Iran during the conflict, but the level of assistance remains significantly below what Moscow—and even Beijing—could potentially provide.
“Russia is certainly helping Iran. But they could have done so much more for them, and so could China, and they have chosen not to,” Keane said during the broadcast. See More/Read Original
