Umar Sani, an aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has said that many voters destroyed their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) after former President Muhammadu Buhari announced he would not seek re-election, a development he says contributed to lower voter turnout.
In an interview with SYMFONI TV, Umar Sani recalled that when Buhari was contesting, large numbers of people registered and turned out to vote, and Buhari regularly received about 12 million votes.
