Abuja is playing host to an array of distinguished leaders and global figures as the 50 years Murtala Muhammed International Lecture and Leadership Conference gets underway.
The late Murtala ruled Nigeria between July 1975 and February 1976, when he was assassinated
Among dignitaries present are former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former President Goodluck Jonathan; former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo.
Also in attendance are the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II; the wife of the late Head of State, Hajia Ajoke Muhammed; and Dr. Isha Mohammed Oyebade, daughter of the former Head of State.
The conference has also drawn international participation, including Malawian President Joyce Banda; former Ghanaian President John Kufuor; and President of Sierra Leone Ernest Bai Koroma.
Members of the diplomatic corps, academia, and industry leaders are equally present.
