Iran: We Should Consider China an Enemy Combatant in the Course Of This War- Gordon Chang

A U.S.-based China analyst has escalated concerns over Beijing’s role in the Iran conflict, arguing that its alleged support for Tehran amounts to indirect participation in the war against the United States.

Speaking during an interview on Fox Business on Thursday March 19, 2026, Gordon Chang, a senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute, said Washington should fundamentally reassess how it views China in the context of the conflict.

“We should consider China an enemy combatant in the course of this war,” Chang said.

His remarks followed earlier claims that Iran had used Chinese-made supersonic missiles in an attempted strike on the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.
