Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Sa’ar, has made a series of provocative remarks following claims by Israeli authorities that senior Iranian official Ali Larijani was killed in a recent military operation.
According to a statement issued Tuesday by the Israel Defense Forces, Larijani who served as head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council was allegedly “eliminated” during an overnight strike carried out in the early hours of the day. The claim has not been independently verified, and Iranian authorities have yet to issue a formal response confirming his death.
Reacting to the development, Sa’ar made a controversial comment suggesting that Larijani had previously been a high-value target. “Ali Larijani had a $10 million prize on his head.
